Born and raised in the Bay Area, California, Britta Nauta dreamt of having a career in the arts ever since she can remember. At age 11, Britta won her first design contest, developing a passion for visual communication and a true competitive spirit. Britta attended California State University, Sacramento, and earned her B.S. in Graphic Design in 2004. |
An award
winning volunteer for her sorority Delta Gamma, Britta received the
honor of Sister of the Year two years in a row, the 5 points of the
Star scholarship, Lady at all Times award, as well as crowned Dream
Girl, an award given to a graduating Senior who exemplifies Delta
Gamma qualities. After graduation, Britta took these virtues to South
Lake Tahoe to open her own business, Anchor Design. They are the foundation
of her new career as an artist.
"I have a passion for design because it incorporates art, technology and creativity. Everyone needs graphic design, so I learn about different fields of work all the time. One moment I could be working on a cutting edge brochure for Evolution and the next I could be designing political yard signs." The young entreprenuer is an active officer in the Tahoe Art League, creates the TAL ink newsletter, registry and helps with marketing for several art events. Britta's work is displayed at Passaretti’s Italian Restaurant and she participates in Outdoor Art shows with the TAL. In 2005, she launched an online store at Cafe Press where she sells a variety of useful products. www.cafepress.com/anchordesign

Artist
Statement
The purpose of my fine art montage is to encompass the whole subject
by creatively layering multiple photographs. I produce artwork from
my travels because I wish to share the visual experience with others.
Custom montage work, especially weddings, is rewarding to me because
the final product is so meaningful to the customer. I want people
to learn from my work about the endless possibilities that digital
art has to offer. My goal as an artist is to increase exposure of
digital art as a fine art medium.
I use my camera as a tool to capture shape, light and color and my stylus to intensify my vision. As my style evolved, I began experimenting with a way to make my work less extreme and computerized. I went back to the fundamentals and started painting again. Layering watercolors with my photographs creates a digital art piece with a traditional twist. Adding this common art form was the breakthrough I was searching for. Now art patrons can relate to a familiar technique in my composition. My works are more than just photos or paintings, they are creations that combine new and old techniques expressing my distinctive style.
